Annie Ryerson’s work encompasses many different studio practices ranging from collage, drawing, sculpture, and installation. Ryerson spent a year in Paris, France working under an array of artists including painters, sculptors, and fabric designers. In Paris she had the opportunity to become a Copyist in the Louvre Museum and was able to work directly from old master paintings. Although trained traditionally, Annie embraces the ideals of abstract painting. The center of her work explores the notion of wonder - and navigates the viewer through other worldly landscapes of a forever-young imagination.

Ryerson lives and works in Syracuse, NY, where she is a candidate to earn her MFA in Painting and Material Studies in May 2012. Her work has been shown in various locations throughout the United States and abroad in both France and Ireland.
